Neighborhood Guide
Atlantis, Florida
A small, tucked-away city built around golf, lakes, and lush landscaping, quiet streets and country-club living just south of Lake Worth.
Atlantis is one of Palm Beach County's best-kept secrets: a small, fully incorporated city designed from the start around a golf course, lakes, and beautifully landscaped streets. It sits just south of Lake Worth between Congress Avenue and Military Trail, which means you get a quiet, low-traffic neighborhood with the whole county at your fingertips. Homes here are mostly mid-century single-family residences, with golf-course and lakefront properties carrying the premium. If you're downsizing, moving up, or simply looking for a manageable, well-located home, I'd love to help. As a REALTOR® with RE/MAX Excellence, I know these communities street by street. A Country Club City from Day One
Atlantis was born in the late 1950s, when developers purchased a former cattle ranch just south of Lake Worth and set out to build something new for South Florida: a complete country-club community. The city was incorporated in 1959, one of the earliest golf-anchored developments west of the county's coast, and the first homes, the golf course, and the clubhouse followed through the early 1960s.
The community was planned around its fairways and lakes from the very beginning, with the golf course redesigned in the early 1970s under noted architects. In those early years Atlantis gained a reputation as a quiet, well-kept place where the area's doctors and lawyers lived. Today that character remains: mature landscaping, tranquil streets, and one of the most convenient small-city locations in central Palm Beach County.

What to Know Before Buying in Atlantis
Mid-Century Homes, Modern Updates
Much of Atlantis was built in the 1960s and 1970s. Some homes are beautifully updated; others are original-condition. Budget for renovations and check the age of the roof, AC, and impact windows.
Club & Community Details
If the golf-course setting matters to you, ask about membership options, club fees, and any community or HOA obligations attached to the home you're considering.
Canal & Flood Zones
The Lake Worth Drainage Canal borders the village to the north. Verify the FEMA flood zone for the property and get a flood insurance quote before making an offer.
Small City, Big Access
Atlantis runs its own municipal services as a small incorporated city, while the region's hospitals, the airport, and major employers are all a short drive away.
